1 It is a pity that Mr. Lang in his excellent polemic against this view in Myth Ritual and Religion should not have taken the trouble to discover the real of fender: throughout he attributes to Furtwängler, who only wrote the latter part of the article, the paradoxes of Roschcr who wrote the first.
