On the occurrence of Chelonibia patula (Cirripedia) on the coasts of Turkey

Abstract

Some specimens of the blue crab are bearing barnacles which have been identified as Chelonibia patula. Although generally known in the Mediterranean Sea this is the first report of C. patula from the Turkish coasts. It has been photographed and some morphometric measurements are provided.
